/cm:compound — Document Learnings
Capture and compound marketing knowledge after completing work.
What It Does
Systematically documents what you learned so future marketing work benefits from this project's insights.
Process
- Identify What Was Learned
- Ask: What worked? - Ask: What didn't work? - Ask: What surprised you? - Ask: What would you do differently?
- Categorize Learning
- Positioning insight - Copywriting pattern - CRO finding - Channel effectiveness - Customer insight - Competitive intel
- Document in Learnings File
- Check if .agents/learnings/[category].md exists - If not, create it - Append new learning with: - Date - Context (what project) - Finding - Evidence - Implication (what to do next time)
- Update Relevant Skills (if pattern emerges)
- If this learning should inform future skill execution, note it - Example: "Audiences respond better to outcome-focused headlines than feature-focused" - Add to references or skill notes
- Confirm Compounding
- Acknowledge what was captured - Suggest how to apply it to next project
When to Use
- After completing a major project (launch, campaign, page)
- After running an A/B test (whether it won or lost)
- After customer research (capture insights)
- Quarterly review (synthesize patterns)
Time Investment
10-15 minutes
Output
- Updated learnings file (
.agents/learnings/[category].md) - Optional skill updates (if pattern is strong)
- Confirmation of what was captured
Philosophy
